A Brief History of Temple Baptist Church
Temple Baptist Church was organized as an outgrowth of an old-fashioned Brush Arbor Revival meeting that took place in the community in 1941. Souls were saved as a result of the meeting which led to the organization of the church. Temple Baptist Church was formally organized in February of 1942 with the Rev. Lane Puett as the first Pastor. The church purchased land on Old North Road and constructed its first church building.
Ground Breaking For New Building
 In September of 1990, our church extended a call to Kevin Broyhill to be its Pastor. As a result of continued growth, Temple Baptist Church saw the need of constructing a new building to facilitate the needs of the congregation. A building program was commenced in March of 2000 and our church moved into its new home in October of that same year. Since, then the church has continued to experience the Lord's blessings with souls being saved and new families being regularly added to its membership. Due to this growth, in April of 2004 a 4,000 square foot building was erected to serve as a fellowship hall, activities building and office complex.
We are thankful to God for the many blessings we have experienced here at Temple Baptist Church. We look forward to the future because we believe that God's best for Temple Baptist Church is still ahead of us.
